In the framework of the opening of negotiations with the European Union and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of relations with the USA, a concert will be organized in Tirana.
The concert will be held in "Skënderbej" square and the most popular Albanian singers will perform.
It is known that one of them will be Çiljeta Xhilaga. The singer was known years ago for her approach to the Democratic Party. When the rightists were in power, she sang at PD rallies.
8 years ago, Çiljeta Xhilaga found herself in the middle of a political fight because she had sung at the concert of Albania's membership in NATO. The party was held in Mother Teresa Square.
One of the culminating moments of the concert was when Prime Minister Berisha got on stage and together with the well-known singer raised their eyes to the sounds of the music playing in Mother Teresa Square.
The Democrats went into opposition in 2013. A year later, Albania received the status of a candidate country. It was an occasion to celebrate. But not with Çiljeta. Prime Minister Edi Rama stung political opponents with her name. In a conference with commissioner Stefan Fyle, Rama said " I feel sorry for Çiljeta and the other singers who could have had a different day if there were others in the government ".
Promising a dignified but modest celebration, Rama said "Çiljeta will not sing, but we will invite those who should be invited, including Sali Berisha".
The first answer was received from the singer herself, since then she was still a member of the Democratic Party: " I am proud to have sung for the entry into NATO, while Enver's volunteers find shelter ", wrote Çiljeta Xhilaga on social networks.
Even Berisha did not avoid this topic. In parliament, he told Rama that he did not have even 1% of Çiljeta's performance.
"Your Eurosocialist president said that we will not celebrate receiving the status, but this is because he is the only one who says that he has received the status and is caught with the honored singer and artist, Çiljeta. If he had 1/100 of Çiljeta's artistic performance, he would be a much more successful painter than he is today because he has never sold a painting," said Berisha.
The former prime minister's comment caused laughter in the hall. The discussion about Çiljeta was continued by SP MP Taulant Balla, who told Berisha "Çiljeta has left (the stage) in time, but I'm afraid that you will too."
Mentioned three times within 10 days, Çiljeta expressed through a statement that she felt appreciated by the former chairman of the Democratic Party.
"I thank Prime Minister Berisha for the compliment he gave me for parliament. To be mentioned by an Albanian historical figure, to be appreciated artistically above a prime minister, to be commented by 140 deputies in the hall and to become news on the front pages is truly a pleasure. Especially when all of this happens while I'm at home with the chunin for my own fun. Thank you for putting me on stage even when I don't ask for it" was the singer's comment, which seemed that as long as the socialists were in power, she would not appear on the stages of government events.
But over the years, socialists changed. Çiljeta also changed. She openly expressed her support for the socialists during the campaign for the April 25 elections. The singer participated in several electoral meetings, where the political leader for Tirana and the mayor, Erjon Veliaj, was present.
After the official opening of the negotiations, the socialists will celebrate. Veliaj announced on social networks that Çiljeta will be part of the concert for the opening of negotiations in Tirana, on July 28.
"I heard that Ciljeta Xhilaga will be in Skënderbej Square on July 28. Do you know anything? We will celebrate two historical events: - the anniversary of ALBANIA-USA relations as well as the opening of negotiations with the European Union!" writes Veliaj.
In a 2016 status, the famous singer considers Berisha as "life" and that a man like the former prime minister does not come twice.
" This man is life, there are no more like him on this earth ", the singer wrote years ago, meanwhile it is not known if he has changed his mind about the former democratic leader
