The film 'Banshees of Inisherin' has won three major awards at the 'Golden Globes' ceremony in Los Angeles. The awards it received were the best musical or comedy film, the best screenplay, as well as the best actor in a comedy for the Irish actor Colin Farrell.
"I never expected my films to find this audience, and when they do it's shocking to me," Farrell said. Steven Spielberg's autobiographical film 'The Fabelmans' was also one of the big winners, winning best drama.
The school-based comedy 'Abbott Elementary' and the satirical comedy 'The White Lotus' were among the winners in the television categories. Most of the winners received their awards in person, despite speculation that many stars would stay away from this year's ceremony due to the controversy surrounding the Globes.
Spielberg was named best director for his direction of 'The Fabelmans'. Cate Blanchett received the award for best actress in a drama for her performance in Tar, but was not present to receive the award as she is working on a production in Britain.
Other winners not at the ceremony included Kevin Costner and Zendaya, who won best actor in a TV drama for 'Euphoria.'
Quan, who starred as a child alongside Harrison Ford in Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, became emotional as he accepted the award for best supporting actor.
