A high-class escort has once again put the spotlight on what goes on behind closed doors in Davos during the World Economic Forum. Salome Balthus, 40, is a Berlin-based escort who has once again travelled to Davos, Switzerland, to meet her clients during the annual gathering of the global elite.
Salome told the Daily Mail what she's learned about the world's elite and what their leaders are discussing behind closed doors. They seem convinced that a climate change apocalypse is upon us.
"The elephant in the room is climate change. Everyone knows it can no longer be prevented," she says, adding that the "super rich" are divided into two groups on the subject.
"One group thinks climate change only affects the poor and 'non-white', while others fear it could get worse, but they don't think there's any point in trying to do anything. So they're just enjoying themselves," she told the Daily Mail.
"One half is in despair while the other half is foolishly celebrating mass deaths in the future. Of course it's not just Davos, but it's concentrated there," she said.
Salome said that some of the wealthy people who were included in the first group say that those in third world countries "may all die, but we are still fine."
"They say that in a democracy you have to sell, you have to lie to people and tell them 'we didn't know better and we didn't think it would go this badly,'" she says.

"Then there's another group that thinks it might not be so easy, maybe it will affect them too because of unpredictable chain reactions. But they say they can't do anything against others, so they live by the mantra 'after us, let the world turn upside down.'"
"They say they will enjoy a few more beautiful years on Earth and they know there is no future. They are very cynical and that is deeply sad."
Salome said that topics like this are made by the rich when they are in bars, saunas or hotel lobbies, especially if they have already turned over a few glasses.
"Every now and then I tease them about this topic and they make comments, after which I can understand the backstory myself. Of course, this only works if the person is drunk late at night and talking to someone at the bar, then that's what happens."
"They are extremely proud of this or they simply see me as an object and do not think about the fact that I also think when they are with me. The public needs to know that the enemies of the poor and the lower class are not immigrants, but the super rich," Salome added.
Salome said that the encounters between her clients are about "the passion of eroticism and the passion of power, although the latter is so great that it can even erase the former."

A graduate of philosophy and German literature, she said she no longer goes to parties where she has to wait for someone to take her with her.
According to the website of Salome's Berlin escort agency, a weekend costs clients £5,000, while a head-to-head meeting for just 2 hours starts at around £850.
Prostitution is legal in Switzerland, and sex workers must pay taxes, register with local authorities and undergo regular health checks. And business is booming.
