A "high-class" escort has shed "light" on what goes on behind closed doors in Davos during the World Economic Forum.
Salome Balthus , 40, is a high-end escort from Berlin who has traveled to Davos, Switzerland, to meet with clients during the annual gathering of the global elite.
Salome revealed to MailOnline what she has learned about the global elite.
"Everyone knows that climate change can no longer be prevented. The super-rich can generally be divided into two groups on the subject. One group thinks it only affects the poor, while the others fear it could get worse, but there's no point in trying to do anything to stop it," she said.
Salome indicated that some of the wealthy people who were included in the first group were saying that "they" (the people) in third world countries 'could all die, but in the others we were fine.'
"They say that in a democracy you have to sell it, lie to the people and tell them 'we didn't know any better and we didn't think it would go this badly'. Others say they will enjoy a few more beautiful years on earth and know there is no future. They are very cynical."
Salome said topics like these come up in a bar, sauna or hotel lobby, especially if people have already had a few drinks.
"Every now and then I tease them with topics and they comment on it. Of course, this only works if the person is drunk late at night and talking to someone at the bar."
Salome said her clients are often not the super wealthy, quite the opposite.
"It's not the super powerful who seek an escort. They are happy when they find some time for their families. It's more the ordinary employees who get excited," she said.
But how much does Salome "cost"?
The graduate in philosophy and German literature said she goes to parties and doesn't even meet her clients there.
She is contacted on the official website and a weekend costs clients £5,000, while a two-hour tete-a-tete starts from around £850.
At Davos, escorts were asked to dress in suits and not be conspicuous. According to an escort named Tiffany, 'discretion is the number one skill for an escort, especially when contracted for a powerful person.'
"I wear normal clothes - a purple suit and a black coat - I look part of the conference scene," she previously told MailOnline.
Prostitution is legal in Switzerland, and sex workers are expected to pay taxes, register with local authorities, and are required to undergo regular health checks.
This approach has led to a reduction in violence against sex workers and human trafficking.
