Unusual has been what a Brazilian has done recently. Baltazar Lemos, 60, from Curitiba, Paraná, announced his death on social media and organized a fake funeral for his friends and family. The 60-year-old runs a funeral agency and this idea came to him after only 2 people had gone to a funeral ceremony and in this way he thought of holding his own "funeral" to see the attendance.

He had thought everything through, one day he posted a picture from the hospital, and the next day he announced his own death. Friends were shocked by the death including his 80-year-old mother who uses a wheelchair - and started paying tribute to him and his life. Friends and family quickly gathered to pay their respects to the Brazilian at a church in his hometown of Curitiba. But as soon as the ceremony began, Lemo's voice came over the loudspeakers, detailing the 60 years of his life.

Those present were shocked and tears began to flow from many people's eyes. Mourners speculated that Lemos had recorded the tape before his presumed death.
The alter doors then opened and Lemo's friends and family confronted the man. Mourners were horrified and confused as tears continued to flow from many in attendance. The sham funeral didn't seem to have the results Lemos expected. While he tried to explain what had happened and why he wanted to do this, those present could not understand him.

Lemos told the Brazilian newspaper Otempo : "I had the idea five months ago. I wanted to make it look like I really died. People interpreted it in their own way. The truth is that I wanted to know who would come to me."
He also apologized for his antics. "I didn't tell anyone because I hoped it would work. I did not intend to hurt, offend or cause any harm to anyone. I sincerely apologize to these people."
