The cosmos continues to amaze people. Recently, with our eyes from the sky, we can see the comet that passed by the Earth 50 thousand years ago, when people were in the Neanderthal era.
Just as it was warned, the sky in 2023 offers a spectacle from the meteor shower, to the so-called comet of the Neanderthals, that on February 2 will come close to the Earth.
It is impossible to say if at that moment any of them was able to admire it with the naked eye, but this time it will be almost impossible to do something like that, since as astronomer Elena Mazzotta Epifani of the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics says ( Inaf), the comet will only be visible with binoculars, even from the darkest areas.
The trajectory of the celestial body baptized as ZTF (C/2022 E3), is being carefully followed by the great astronomical observatories of the Northern Hemisphere. According to experts, the Neanderthal comet can tell a lot about our solar system, its origins and how planetary systems different from ours were born.
The moon seems to spoil the cosmic show a bit, because its light will not allow the passage of the comet to be seen clearly. C/2022 E3 is a very ancient comet that hails from the outskirts of our planetary system and has visited Earth only once before.
