SEAN Diddy Combs appeared before a judge yesterday for the first time since he was arrested for sexual abuse and human trafficking. He entered the courtroom in prison garb, according to US media, and hugged his lawyers. Also, he greeted his family sitting inside and laughed.
Reporters were not allowed into the courtroom, but photographers were able to capture Diddy's handcuffed leg in the van that was taking him back to jail after the trial.
Judge Arun Subramanian fixed the trial for May 5.
The 54-year-old music mogul was cheered on by his 84-year-old mother Janice Combs and six of his seven children: son Quincy Brown (33), son Justin Combs (30), son Christian King Combs (26), daughter Chance Combs (18) and twin daughters Jessie and D'Lila Combs (17).
Janice, who recently denounced the "public lynching of her father," appeared horrified and distraught as she arrived at federal court in Manhattan. As they left the courtroom, they held hands.

Sean Diddy Combs' attorneys are now claiming the government intentionally released disturbing footage of him physically assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in order to tarnish his reputation amid a legal battle. In the 2016 video, Combs can be seen grabbing Ventura by the neck, throwing him to the floor, punching him and dragging him.
Sean Diddy Combs was charged in an unsealed criminal complaint with three counts, alleging that he sexually abused women and forced them to attend sex parties and use drugs under threats and violence. In addition, he is also accused of human trafficking and running a criminal organization.
In less than 24 hours, 12,000 of Diddy's alleged victims and witnesses came forward. Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges and was held in custody pending trial.
