The famous Albanian rapper Noizy has been arrested in Switzerland by order of the State Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zurich, Serious Violent Crimes Department. So far, no one, not even the rapper's managers, have clarified what Noizy is specifically accused of.

For this reason, his arrest raises serious questions about his involvement in a serious criminal offense, suspected of having been committed on Swiss territory or involving the jurisdiction of this state.

Under Swiss law, a criminal offense committed outside Switzerland – such as the earlier incident in Kosovo for which Noizy was fined 15,000 euros – can only be prosecuted in Switzerland if certain strict conditions are met:

The author is located in Switzerland;

The act is punishable both in Switzerland and in the country where it was committed;

There is no final decision abroad, or the sentence has not been executed.

If the sentence against Noizy in Kosovo has already been carried out, then, based on the legal principle "ne bis in idem" (prohibition of double punishment for the same offense), the Swiss authorities do not have the right to prosecute the same act.

However, the fact that the case has been taken over by such a specialized department as the Zurich Prosecution Office for Serious Violent Crimes suggests that:

Or a new act of violence has occurred on Swiss territory (such as threats, retaliation or other physical confrontation);

Or the Swiss authorities suspect other acts that were not included in the Kosovo court's decision, perhaps with victims or consequences that directly affect Switzerland's legal interests.

A simple incident of physical violence, already punished in Kosovo, would not fall within the scope of this specialized prosecution.

This makes it possible that the latest developments, still unknown to the public, involve more serious and complex allegations.
