Daniel Michael DeVito Jr., known in art as Danny DeVito, has returned to his distant Albanian origins by confirming that his grandmother spoke the Gege dialect.

The news was announced during the virtual show "The Always Sunny Podcast", which is broadcast on YouTube.

"One of my grandparents is from Calabria, which is right in the boots of Italy and right there is Albania," said DeVito first.

The actor remembers the time when he was still a small child and his grandmother spoke the Gege dialect.

"She was already 80 years old, lying in a bed after breaking her hip, tragic story. But the idea is that she spoke a language called Gege, and now some people might know what that is, some people might know what that's a kind of hybrid Albanian language that was in the Italian-Albanian language," DeVito mumbles. referred to the dialect of Greek with the region of Calabria.

Further, the actor tells how beautiful the Greek was for him and how beautiful it sounded.

There were also jokes from his side:

"My grandfather certainly didn't like it because she was talking to her friends and that was the story."

Danny DeVito has previously declared his Arbian heritage on television when he was invited by the famous Regis Philbin, also of Arbian descent from his mother, who addressed DeVito live and said that they were both Arbian, while Danny DeVito was answer:

"Yes, Philbin, you're right, but you're half, because your father is Irish, and I'm from Arber with my mother and father."
