Love knows no age and this couple is an expression of that.
A married couple with a 61-year age gap have vowed to start a family, despite the 85-year-old man being 10 years older than his wife's grandfather. Miracle Pogue, 24, met husband Charles Pogue, 85, when she was working at a laundromat in 2019 and the pair quickly struck up a romance.
Despite their 61-year age difference, the pair are seeking IVF in the hope of starting a family to ensure Charles, who is childless, leaves behind a new generation. Retired real estate agent Charles finally decided to admit his feelings for the nurse a year after they met and he proposed in February 2020.
Miracle says her mother Tamika Phillips and grandfather Joe Brown supported the relationship from the start after seeing how happy the retiree made her, but her father Kareem Phillips was harder to convince.
'Charles brought an outfit and only wanted me to serve him. One day he waltzed in there and threw a piece of paper down and said "write your number" as if he were a player. He was my knight in shining armor. We had a good vibe, he didn't make me feel weird. It was good conversation, it made me feel comfortable. I knew he was older, but I didn't know his exact age. When I realized I was in too deep, a few months passed and I already had feelings for him. I found out in conversation when we asked each other his date of birth and he said he was born in 1937. I don't care if he's 100 or 55, I like him. I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good. He's always up and active," Miracle said.
