Anxela Peristeri and Stivi Ushe have recently joined forces to bring not one, but two new projects. They have published "N'ëndrra" and "Morena" which have so far been well liked by the public. The pair of artists were invited to the studio of "Live From Tirana" to talk to us more about the new songs and not only...
Steve, what does it mean to work with Angela Perister?
It is great luck, a gratitude that I have because she is an artist that I appreciate a lot. She appreciated my talent. The whole process was very quick and very nice and everything went quite well.
Angela, what did you like about the song "N'ondrra" to bring it back together with Steve?
When Steve sang this song, I was a spectator and saw it live. I was impressed by Steve's voice, it was a song with a very beautiful melody. That rarely sees songs with beautiful melodies. That's how I wanted to do a song with him. The first was "N'andrra" and then came "Morena".
Steve: Angela blessed him with her vocals that gave him another breath. I got a very good friendship, she was a mentor, she gave me endless advice. All these things grow me artistically. Angela is one of the few artists who has supported young artists.
Does Angela have any unrealized dreams yet?
I have almost fulfilled most of my dreams. One thing I've been stuck with is a discography in Greece. I once left it halfway and returned to Albania. I don't know if it's too late for that now.
Would you do a duet with Louise Aile? Here's what Angela says...
I am open to any cooperation. Luizi is a very good singer. I resent why he is being appreciated right now as a singer. Some people would never collaborate with him if he didn't join "BBV". Albanians have this that where the crowd goes, they go too.
How was "Morena" born?
"Morena" is a rhythmic song, the crowd loves it. It was a gem that stayed in the studio for 3 years. We were waiting for the right moment to release it. Angela came and when she heard the material she said that we will do this together.
What do you think about the Albanian music market today?
Angela: The market is down. The music is a bit 'bastardized'. I don't know why this spirit continues. For my tastes, in our adolescence, the songs were of better quality. Then there is the fact that new songs are produced every month. You have to give each song its own time. This is how composers get tired and have nothing to produce.
Steve: I grew up with the songs of Angela and other artists from whom I took some values. People want fast content. No one listens to songs if they are long. They just jump on TikTok and go viral. In addition to mass, it is also a group that likes good music.
