For the first time the famous footballer of the 70s–80s Edmond Gezdari does not tell the story of his success, but the achievements of daughter, Sarah, who is the only Albanian to compete to become a member of the British Parliament.
"I am proud first of all that she is my daughter, but also because she is Albanian and she is for everyone, not only Mondi. Tears fill my eyes. "There is no greater joy than for the child," Said Gezdari.
Mondi, who was a childhood acting star and was a footballing discovery, thinks that sport does not kiss politics, but that her daughter has fed his discipline to excel in her dream career.
"She's been studying, studying, very good at teaching. He played basketball and had a great time. When he won, he cried, when he lost he cried again. "He had a grint like his father," he told TCH.
His father tells us the qualifications of Sarah who graduated in political science in Rome and who is inspired by his model of the Gëzdari family's ancestors of how hard it is to be industrious for work, to be rewarded in life.
"I come from a family of workers. My mother was a hairdresser, a driver father. I've become a footballer not because of talent, but on the basis of work. Sarah got the grint, the nerve from me. She works 15 hours a day, in meetings with people."
Sara runs for the Conservative Party in the Richmond Park area of London, where unlike running for elections in Albania, she had to pass several trials before writing history as the first Albanian to seek a seat in the English Parliament.
"He's been in London for 12 years and he's been active for the party that's running for 10 years. There's an interesting thing there, you have to go through two elections in the party to run, Sarah won them too. So it's not by chance there, but based on work," Sarah's father said.
The approach of the July 4 elections in Great Britain makes it more dynamic for Sarah to convince the English to trust the vote, but a call to London Albanians is why they should choose Sarah.
"If he is there, he will be a big hand for the Albanian cause."
