Zelensky in London, Starmer calls for more long-range missiles for Ukraine

Sitting next to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaffirmed his "absolute commitment to meeting the challenge of Russian aggression." He said what they see from Putin is a complete lack of willingness to engage in peace talks.

"I think this week we can really afford Russian oil and gas," Starmer said, adding that there had been "big steps forward this week already."

Starmer stressed that Britain is Ukraine's "closest supporter and ally" but acknowledged that more needs to be done "in terms of capabilities, particularly... long-range capabilities" and security guarantees when it comes to them.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Zelensky stressed that Putin is pushing Ukraine towards a "humanitarian catastrophe."

"Putin is not showing that he wants to stop the war," he said.
