A former Boeing employee who revealed how the airline overlooked serious parts defects has died suddenly at the age of 45 after suffering a sudden illness.
Joshua Dean, according to his relatives, was known for good health and a healthy lifestyle.
Dean was one of the first whistleblowers to accuse Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems of wrongdoing.
He was fired in April 2023. Dean was rushed to hospital two weeks ago after having breathing problems.
His condition began to deteriorate. After being intubated he developed pneumonia before contracting a bacterial infection, MRSA.
According to a CT scan, he also suffered a stroke during this time.
Dean was represented by the same law firm that represented Boeing whistleblower John Barnett, who allegedly committed suicide in March of this year.
