The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, called on the Kosovo authorities to withdraw what he called the "alleged leaders" from the Serb-majority municipalities in the north, in order to reduce the tensions that have caused violence.

Speaking after arriving at a summit of the European Political Community in Moldova, Vucic said such a step would be the "most powerful move" to resolve the crisis, Radio Free Europe quotes.

In a post on his Instagram account, Vucic said he does not expect easy meetings with European leaders in Moldova.

"It is important that we try to maintain peace and stability", said the Serbian president, among other things.
