Russia calls the news about civilians killed in Ukraine's city of Bucha false and part of a coordinated Western campaign.
"Stories about Buchan immediately appeared in some foreign media, which seems like a planned media campaign. Considering that the troops left the city on March 30, where were the views for four days? Their absence only confirms the falsification," the Russian Defence Ministry says.
According to the Russians, confusing images appear in a video of lifeless troops.
"In the 12th second the corpse on the right moves its arm. In the 30th second in the rearview mirror, the corpse sits. The bodies in the video appear to be lying deliberately to create a more dramatic view. This is easily seen if you play the video slowly," Moscow says.
Russia does not rule out killing civilians, but blames this on the Ukrainian army, which bombed the city after the withdrawal of Russian troops.
"After Russian troops withdrew from Bucha, the AFU bombed the city. This may have caused civilian casualties.
"Mikhail Podolyak (adviser to the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky) uses such insane images as a pretext to seek weapons from Western countries" says Russia.
