An officer of the Serbian border police in Loznica was killed during the shooting and according to Novosti.rs, by a young Albanian.

The police found at the scene the passport of the suspect, issued by the institutions of Kosovo in the name of Artan Hajziri, 33 years old, and a German identity card.

"Tonight, around 00:55 in Loznica, during the control of the vehicle at the checkpoint in Lipnički Šor, the policemen of the border station of Trbushnica stopped a Mercedes with license plates of Tutina in which there were two people - Dačič said.

When he got out of the car, a person fired a pistol, hitting the policeman Nikola Krsmanovic in the chest and the policeman Vjekoslav Ilic in the shoulder, and then they ran away.

Both policemen were transported to Loznica General Hospital, where Krsmanovic succumbed to his injuries.

Strong police forces are intensively searching for the author, the policemen of the Shabac Police Department, as well as the Criminal Police Directorate, the Border Police Directorate and members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit are on the ground, drones and helicopters have been set up.

"I send my deepest condolences to the family of the murdered policeman on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and on my behalf ," said Dacic.
