Illegal immigrants in Spain

Illegal migrants trying to land on a beach in Spain were caught on the ground by locals and tourists before being arrested by police.

The footage shows 13 men jumping from a boat and swimming towards the shore, where they immediately encountered stiff resistance from beachgoers in a tourist town in Andalusia, in the south of the country.

The incident happened on Sotillo Beach in Castell de Ferro on Sunday afternoon.

The incident, recorded on phones by witnesses, showed a motor boat approaching the crowded beach at high speed.

The men, who are said to have originated in North Africa, began to dive into the water and run up to the shore.

One clip showed an immigrant being held by a half-naked man in orange underwear sitting on top of him until police arrived. Another showed a beachgoer accompanying a man from the sea.

Amid the chaos and confusion, some of the migrants tried to mingle with those on the beach, according to witnesses.
