Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that a decision has been made to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, including operations in areas where hostages are held.
The Prime Minister's Office conveyed the message to the Chief of Staff: "If this does not suit you, then you must resign."
The announcement comes after months of talks in Doha between Hamas, Israel and mediators to reach a ceasefire and hostage-taking agreement, writes Euronews.
Hamas demanded that hundreds of trucks of aid would have to enter the Gaza Strip for the terrorist group to return to negotiations, despite increased international efforts to provide resources to the Palestinian enclave.
Hamas also released videos over the weekend, showing weakened hostages and claiming they were starving to death as a result of widespread famine in the Gaza Strip.
