In an interview given to the Economist, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not spare criticism of Greece.

Erdogan has stated that Greece by arming the islands is taking steps contrary to the Treaty of Lausanne and other agreements.

The Economist further writes that Erdogan is leading Turkey towards a dictatorship and that he is fueling tensions with Athens.

Edrogan said: Can the British magazine determine the fate of Turkey? My nation is what defines it. What my nation says will determine what will happen in Turkey."
