The Vice President of the United States of America, JD Vance, paid a visit to Italy, where he was received by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and visited the Vatican as part of Holy Week.
In an Instagram post, Vance expressed his pleasure at meeting Meloni:
"It was a pleasure to meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome. Italy is a beautiful country and a great ally of the United States."
The US vice president's visit to the Vatican coincided with the Good Friday liturgy in St. Peter's Basilica, a solemn moment of Holy Week in the Catholic calendar.
"It was an honor to visit the Vatican during Holy Week, and a blessing to experience the beauty and solemnity of the Good Friday liturgy," Vance wrote in another social media post.
