A serious incident occurred in Paris, where a 12-year-old girl was found dead in a suitcase.

Her throat was slit, and one strange element in the case is chilling: the numbers 1 and 0 were "stamped" on her body, according to authorities.

The child's hands and feet, whose name has not been released, were bound with tape and the cause of death appears to be suffocation, Fox News and the Independent reported.

At least four people have been questioned in this case, but no arrests have been made so far.

The girl's parents notified police that their daughter did not return home after school on Friday in the French capital.

The child's father, who is a caretaker at their building, told police he saw his daughter with a woman in her 20s on video from the building, with the woman later seen in the footage carrying the suitcase. The police then found signs of abduction in the basement of the building.

On Friday night police received a call about a suspicious suitcase on Rue d'Hautpoul, a few streets away from the family's home.

According to the police, the numbers 1 and 0 were written on the dead body of the child with a "device", writes the New York Post.
