Russian President Vladimir Putin has answered "no" when reporters asked him if he regrets anything about the war started in Ukraine.
Speaking from Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, after a summit with regional leaders, Russia's president stressed that what was happening now was inevitable, but assured that he would not launch a barrage of bombings, at least for now.
"For now there is no need for massive attacks, we have other goals to fulfill. Out of 29 targets, seven were not hit as planned by the Ministry of Defense. They are dealing with them, with these objectives. But there is no need for massive attacks. At least for now. As for the future, we will see ," said Putin.
Commenting on the proposals that NATO could send troops to Ukraine, the Russian leader says that this would be a step towards the big war, the Third World War.
"In any case, the direct contact or collision of NATO troops with the Russian army is a dangerous move, which leads to a global catastrophe. I hope that those who say this are smart enough not to take such a step, " Putin stressed.
Regarding the possibility of meeting with the American president, Joe Biden, Putin gave this answer.
"You should also ask him if he is ready for talks. I see no need for talks with him to tell you the truth. There is still no platform for talks" , concluded the Russian leader.
In the meantime, he only spoke openly about a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky.
