Ukraine has claimed responsibility for a series of airstrikes in Crimea.
One of the attacks, which took place in early August, targeted the Russian Saky military base where one person was killed.
Ukraine has refused to admit its involvement in the attacks, and has even blamed Russian forces for the attacks
This statement confirms an expansion of the Ukrainian conflict in Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula that Russia annexed in 2014, writes the BBC.
In an article for the national news agency, Ukrinform, Kiev commander Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said that Ukrainian missiles targeted several military sites in Crimea, including the Saky air base, which was hit several times on August 9.
He claimed that the attack - against the base used by Moscow to launch attacks against Ukraine - put 10 Russian warplanes "out of commission".
