Millions of Americans have voted to elect the 47th president of the United States. Donald Trump leads with 267 electoral votes, compared to 216 for Kamala Harris.

As the count continues the picture continues to become increasingly clear, in favor of the tycoon. Trump has already won 3 key states (Pennsylvania, North Carolina and regained Georgia) which he lost in 2020.  

At least 270 votes are needed to win the presidency. Vice President Kamala Harris wins in the states of New Mexico and Virginia. 

Republicans are on track to win another majority in the US Senate, securing the 51 seats they need. Meanwhile, Republicans also control the House of Representatives with a narrow margin.
