The former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Tony Blair, the main figure who made possible the NATO intervention in stopping the Serbian genocide, will be in Kosovo on June 12. This day also marks the Liberation of Kosovo.
Blair is expected to deliver his speech in the Assembly of Kosovo.
In tomorrow's meeting of the Presidency of the Assembly, as the first item on the agenda, the appointment of a solemn session is foreseen.
Tony Blair will address the citizens of Kosovo with a speech.
On the same day, his statue will be inaugurated in Ferizaj.
We recall that Blair addressed the Great Britain Parliament on March 23, 1999 with the words:
"Every Albanian village in the Drenica region is on fire. Families are being evicted and driven from their homes by Serbian forces. Men are being separated from women. We don't know what their fate is."
As the first European leader, Tony Blair will always be remembered by Albanians as the key man who set NATO in motion against the Milosevic regime in 1999.
