NATO is secretly building "land corridors" to push US troops and armor to the front lines in the event of a major European land war with Russia. It is Europe that is trying to draw the world's most powerful country into a war that could happen in two years, according to senior Norwegian military officials.
US troops will land at one of five ports, including ports in the Balkans, and will be channeled along pre-planned logistics routes to deal with a possible attack from Moscow, various officials were quoted as saying by British media outlet The Telegraph. .
Logistics routes have become a key priority since NATO leaders agreed to prepare 300,000 troops to be kept on high alert to protect the alliance at a summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, last year.
In the event of war, American troops would land in Dutch ports before boarding trains that would transport them through Germany and on to Poland.
In the event of a Russian invasion of NATO, US troops would be sent to the port of Rotterdam before being transported east. If NATO forces entering the Netherlands are hit by Russian bombing, or northern European ports are destroyed, the alliance will shift its focus to ports in Italy, Greece and Turkey, The Telegraph cites. From Italian ports, American troops could be transported overland through Slovenia, Croatia to Hungary, which shares a border with Ukraine.
Similar plans exist to transport forces from Turkish and Greek ports through Bulgaria and Romania to reach the alliance's eastern flank.
So, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's Chief of Staff said that using Western weapons to strike inside Russia was a vital decision that would affect Moscow's tactical aviation and its ability to operate in border areas.
