At least 56 people have lost their lives and 595 others have been injured in clashes that have occurred around Sudan.
The figures were released by Sudan's Central Committee of Doctors after an attempted coup launched on Saturday by a paramilitary group calling itself the Sudan Rapid Intervention Forces.
The head of Sudan's paramilitary group, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, claims to have captured most of Khartoum's official sites after clashes erupted between his armed group and the country's army on Saturday.
"The Rapid Intervention Forces control more than 90 percent of strategic sites in Khartoum," Dagalo said in an interview with Sky News Arabia.
The country's military leader, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, disputed Dagalo's claims and stated that the army has maintained control of the country.
The leaders of the paramilitary group accuse the army of being the first to attack them.
