The commander of KFOR, Angelo Michele Ristuccia, as well as the head of EULEX, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, met this Wednesday Prime Minister Albin Kurti in the Kosovo government building.

Other leaders of security institutions were also present at this meeting.

We remind you that the situation in the north of Mitrovica continues to remain tense due to the Serbian criminal groups that have set up barricades and blocked the roads.

On Sunday evening, gunshots were heard near some members of KFOR in the vicinity of Zubin Potok.

Meanwhile, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has issued an order to the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Mojsilovic, to increase the number of members of the special units of the army to 5,000.

"I want to inform the public about an order issued by the President of the Republic as Commander of the Armed Forces. By the end of 2023, the number of members of Special Units in the army will increase. The Serbian army will have 5,000 soldiers, non-commissioned officers and trained officers equipped with the most modern weapons who are ready to defend the homeland, and perform any task at any time and in any part of our territory."

The minister added that those 5,000 soldiers will be ready to respond to all challenges so that they are always on duty to protect the homeland of Serbia.
