The earthquake in Turkey and Syria is one of the most tragic earthquakes that has happened in recent decades.

It is thought that many of the victims have died as a result of dehydration, or because the rescue teams are not oriented to where the victims may be.

In order to minimize the damage in case of such disasters, the Turkish professor, Övgün Ahmet Ercan, has advised residents living in high-risk areas, after the devastating earthquakes in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria, to be alert to earthquakes that can happen.

Through a post on Twitter, the professor calls on citizens to take precautions, so that they understand as soon as possible that the earthquake is happening.

He advises citizens to keep a whistle and a plastic bottle of water to their heads before going to bed, in order to check the "behavior" of the building as soon as possible and then act to protect themselves.
