Milan and Rome, the two big Italian centers will combine in their cities a very ambitious and future-related project. Electric flying taxis, which will serve to transport people and goods, will be a means of travel in these cities.

In a "Skype" connection to "Rudina", the Albanian journalist of "Corriere della Sera", Leonard Berberi explains in more detail this innovation that will be implemented after 2 years.

Leonard Berberi : In Italy there are so far two big projects, one is in Rome, based in Rome and the other project is the one that was shown, in Milan and in Cortina, especially in the city of Milan. Both projects, starting between 2025-2026 because in 2025 in Rome there will be a big event for the Catholic Church, it will be the jubilee and in Milan in 2026 and in Cortina there will be the Winter Olympics, as we saw a little while ago seconds. The projects are on paper because an authorization is first expected in Europe from the European Regulatory Agency for the provision of vehicles that must fly, so they must be authorized in advance and then the inauguration will begin at the end of 2025.

Rudina Magjistari:  That is practically very close, think about it for 2 years. Now when we say air taxi, our mind goes to the charters, let's say, those small planes or helicopters. How do air taxis around town differ from charters or helicopters?

Leonard Berberi : First of all, these are electric taxis, so they work with batteries, they do not work with fuel, with polluting means, so they are 100% respectful of the environment, and secondly, they are taxis that, unlike helicopters, do not make noise. since they are electric, they are battery powered and the motor works in a way that they don't make a lot of noise.

Berberi adds that according to a survey conducted in Milan, 70% of the city's population expressed a positive attitude towards this technology. He also explains how its relationship with the consumer's pocket will be.

Leonard Berberi : The prices at the beginning will not be prices for all pockets because they will be used especially between Milan-Malpensa airport and the city, which is about 1 hour by car or by bus, so it will be 20 minutes by electric fighting taxi. The price at the beginning will be 120-140 Euro, but after 2-4 years it will go to 60-70 Euro, which by the standards of taxis between Malpensa and Milan are even lower prices.
