The "Israeli rain of death" has been falling relentlessly on the Gaza Strip since Hamas's armed attack on Israel.

In five days of war, more than 1,000 civilians have lost their lives in the territory where more than 2 million people live, and more than 260,000 others have been displaced from their homes.

Images from Gaza show massive destruction, with residential complexes reduced to rubble, while dozens of children are among the victims.

While the operation of the Israeli army is expected to culminate with the intervention of over 150,000 soldiers from the ground, officials of the Palestinian Foreign Ministry accuse Jerusalem of dropping phosphorous bombs on Gaza.

In the statement made on the platform X account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, it is said: "Israel is using internationally banned white phosphorus against the Palestinians".

It is further added that a phosphorus bomb was dropped on civilians in the Kerame region, north of Gaza.

New York-based Human Rights Watch had also stated in its previous reports that Israel used phosphorus in its attacks in the Gaza Strip, but the authorities in Jerusalem have remained silent on the issue.

As for the 'phosphorus bomb', it is otherwise known as white phosphorus and is an explosive weapon containing chemical substances. Its use is categorically prohibited in areas where civilians are present.
