US: Russia suspended by UN Human Rights Council

The United States of America will seek Russia's suspension from the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The news is provided by US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

"In close co-operation with Ukraine and other members and our partners at the UN, the US will aim at suspending Russia from the UN Human Rights Council," the US Ambassador to the UN said.

The request arrives after horror footage from the city of Bucha on the outskirts of Kiev, where Ukraine says that after the withdrawal of Russian troops it has uncovered mass graves of civilians, civilians killed in the city's streets and neighbourhoods in figures of at least 410 people.

Russia denies the accusations, while Western media say the footage proves otherwise, charging that during the withdrawal, Russia used Ukrainian civilians, including elderly people, women and children as human shields.
