Russian attacks in Ukraine

Russia launched over 300 Shahed-type drones and 37 missiles, including ballistic and Kinzhal types, targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Some of the missiles and drones hit civilian areas in regions such as Kharkiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Sumy and Chernihiv.

Ukrainian air defenses said they shot down 283 drones and several missiles, but the attacks damaged power facilities, caused fires in residential areas and injured at least one civilian in Nizhyn, Chernihiv region.

The attacks have intensified power outages across the country, affecting millions of people.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warn of severe winter challenges and call for increased Western support for defenses.
