Pentagon officials reported that reports of unidentified flying objects, known colloquially as "UFOs," increased from 510 to 650. Sean Kirkpatrick, Director of the Office of All-Area Anomaly Resolution at the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), said they are currently investigating more than 650 reports of unidentified flying objects, also known as "UFOs" to the public.

Kirkpatrick spoke at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on new threats and capabilities. Commenting on the activities of his office, which was established in August last year, Kirkpatrick said the number of unidentified flying objects they are currently examining is 650.

"Of the more than 650 cases we have, we've prioritized about half of them as having interesting anomalies, and we're going to look at them to see how much data we have for them," Kirkpatrick said.

In the report released by the Directorate of National Intelligence on January 12, the total number of flying objects identified was 510. At the hearing, Kirkpatrick, who showed two declassified images, stated that one of them could be resolved, but the other could not. choose it.

The first video showed a small sphere passing through the screen of an MQ-9 drone camera in the Middle East in 2022. The camera followed the subject as it moved, and said object moved in and out of frame several times.

Kirkpatrick explained that, what this object is has not been solved, as there is no evidence other than the video and it is almost impossible to pinpoint.

The second video showed an object passing by two MQ-9s in South Asia earlier this year, and Kirkpatrick said the object was initially believed to be "really unusual". It wasn't until the video was broken down frame by frame, Kirkpatrick said, that it was determined to be a "shadow image" of a drone.
