There is no peace in Ukraine. Everything is a lie. This is what Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman and Vladimir Putin's shadow man, said.
Peskov, through a public reaction, has denied the news quoted by Reuters, that Vladimir Putin is ready to end the war under the existing conditions.
"The president has repeatedly stated that he is ready for negotiations, but to achieve the objectives that we are pursuing through the special military operation. These objectives are clear and include the four new territories as provided for in the Constitution," Peskov said, referring to the four regions. Ukrainians annexed by Russia.
Peskov's reaction is also reinforced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. According to him, the war in Ukraine ends only if Vladimir Putin withdraws the troops. The German chancellor thus announced a surrender in the face of the difficult situation in Ukraine.
But it is unlikely that the head of the Kremlin will make peace with Ukraine. Probably not as long as Volodymyr Zelensky remains at the head of Ukraine.
According to Putin, Zelensky is not a legitimate leader, so hopes for talks are dim. Putin expressed this opinion openly during the meeting with his loyal counterpart of Belarus, Aleksandar Lukashenko.
"We understand that the legitimacy of the current (Ukrainian) head of state has expired. I think one of the goals of the upcoming conference in Switzerland (June 15 and 16, 2024) is that the Western community, the sponsors of the Kiev regime, can confirm the legitimacy of the acting head of state, or rather the now non-acting one," said Vladimir Putin, President of Ukraine.
So, the Wall Street Journal based on its exclusive information believes that Ukraine has hit a Russian military complex in Crimea with long-range missiles provided by the US. This fact shows that Western weapons are hitting Russia. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov acknowledged the fact that American weapons have been used at a number of facilities outside the conflict zone.
Zelensky has repeatedly vowed to reclaim lost territories, including Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014. He signed a decree in 2022 that officially declared any talks with Putin "impossible."
