'Indecent' birthday letter Trump sent to Jeffrey Epstein released

Donald Trump's alleged "indecent" letter to Jeffrey Epstein, featuring a hand-drawn image of a naked woman along with the president's reported signature, has been made public after lawyers for the late sex offender's estate provided a copy of the birthday book to the House Oversight Committee.

“President Trump called the Epstein investigation a hoax and claimed his birthday record didn’t exist. Now we know Donald Trump was lying and doing everything he could to cover up the truth,” Oversight’s ranking member, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), said Monday after House Democrats shared the image on social media. “Enough with the games and the lies, release the full files now.”

The letter comes two months after the Wall Street Journal first reported its existence, noting that the "indecent" card was allegedly sent to Epstein in 2003 as part of a 50th birthday gift for the disgraced financier.

The card features a figure of a nude woman with Trump's signature that appears to mimic pubic hair.

The president has denied writing the letter to Epstein for his 50th birthday, calling it a "fake thing" and has sued both The Wall Street Journal and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, for defamation, claiming the letter is "nonexistent."

“Happy birthday and may every day be another wonderful secret,” the letter reads. The text is written in the form of a dialogue between Trump and Epstein, and at the end is the president’s signature, although the White House immediately denied that it belonged to him.

Voice: There has to be more to life than having it all.

Donald: Yes, but I won't tell you what.

Jeffrey : Me neither, since I know what it is.

Donald : We have some things in common, Jeffrey.

Jeffrey: Yes, it's true, now that I think about it.

Donald: Riddles never bore you, have you noticed?

Jeffrey: Actually, I had it clear the last time I met you.

Donald: A friend is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday and may every day be another wonderful secret.

The 2003 birthday book, which was created three years before Epstein's first arrest, is professionally bound and contains a number of other letters from prominent figures such as former President Bill Clinton, billionaire Leon Black and famed defense attorney Alan Dershowitz, among others.

Trump's letter is listed under the "Friends" section in the book's table of contents, along with Clinton's.

Before a feud that Trump claims occurred in the mid-2000s over Epstein kidnapping employees from Mar-a-Lago, the president regularly hung out with the financier in both Palm Beach and New York.

Trump also made numerous flights on Epstein's private plane, which was also frequently photographed at the president's Florida estate.

The 2003 book was written by Epstein's longtime partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence on sex trafficking charges related to Epstein's alleged crimes.

During a recent interview with Justice Department officials, Maxwell - who has since been transferred to a minimum-security prison - stated that she put together the book but could not recall the names of those who contributed letters.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported that other people who helped Maxwell with the Epstein 50th anniversary project recalled seeing Trump's letter among other contributions while compiling the book.

Meanwhile, the president has repeatedly hit back amid fierce backlash, claiming that the files were nothing more than a politically motivated "hoax" while urging his supporters to give up on the issue.

“This is a never-ending Democratic hoax,” Trump complained to reporters last week, claiming that “nobody is ever satisfied” with the documents related to Epstein that had already been released.

Trump's latest complaints came as a number of Epstein's victims visited Capitol Hill to tell their stories to Congress and urge the president to release more data.
