The candidate supported by VMRO-DPMNE for president in North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska, leads the race in the presidential elections.
She counts 63.09% of the votes, while Stevo Pendarovski counts 30.31% of the votes.
In a press release, Pendarovski seems to have accepted the defeat, wishing success to the candidate from VMRO-DPMNE.
Meanwhile, he accused DUI, which according to him has called for a boycott.
Pendarovski added that regardless of the result, he has a clear conscience.
"We know that there are some reports of some irregularities, but we leave this to the competent bodies so that no stain remains on the electoral process. I congratulate the winners, I wish them success in their work during the next four years, namely the next 5 years.
My concept for a multi-ethnic Macedonia integrated into the Euro-Atlantic structures did not find support among the voters, however I remain of the opinion that only such a Macedonia can be prosperous. However, my conscience is clear.
But I don't know if even those who called for a boycott have a clear conscience", says Pendarovski, as reported by the media in North Macedonia.
