Floods in Valencia, 1900 people missing. The number of dead is increasing

Around 1,900 people are reported missing after the apocalyptic floods in Valencia.

The number of people who died in the floods has risen from 205 to 207, according to Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska.

But the total death toll is likely to rise much higher due to the high number of people missing, 1,900 people.

Experts have found new records, after about 42 liters of rain per square meter fell in just 10 minutes in a city in Valencia.

Thousands of dirty and abandoned cars covered in brown sludge are already left on the streets around Valencia after floods turned them into rivers.

Yellow and orange warnings remain in place for parts of the Valencia region and Catalonia over the weekend.

Officials are now going through the grim process of identifying the bodies - with a team of 100 forensic experts identifying only 17 so far.

Search and rescue workers are going car after car after many people are thought to have drowned inside them as they returned from work when they were hit by floodwaters.

The mayor of Çiva warned on Thursday that there were still "hundreds of overturned cars and they will probably have people inside them".
