Following the phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday afternoon, Ukrainian President Zelensky has reacted.
In a reaction on the social network X, the Ukrainian president writes that the facts are stubborn and since the beginning of this year, Russia has carried out an unprecedented number of attacks on Ukraine.
"According to Ukrainian authorities, in the first half of the year alone, the Russian military dropped about 27,700 aerial bombs, used 11,200 Shahed suicide drones, 9,000 other attack UAVs, as well as over 700 missiles, including ballistic missiles.
"With each new attack and each delay in diplomacy, Russia is pointing the finger at the world. To all those who still hesitate to increase the pressure on it," reads the message posted on X by President Zelensky, adding that if you do not stop it, then share the responsibility with him. And if you want to, but cannot, then he will no longer see you as powerful.
Since the beginning of this year, the Russian military has carried out attacks against Ukraine using nearly 27,700 aerial bombs, nearly 11,200 Shahed drones, about 9,000 other types of attack UAVs, and more than 700 missiles, including ballistic ones.
And this in less than half a year. This is the pace of the Russian attacks, and they deliberately set this pace from the first days of the full-scale war.
Russia has restructured its entire state, society, and economy to be able to kill people in other countries on a massive scale and with impunity. Many have spoken to Russia at various levels.
But none of these talks have brought about a credible peace, or even stopped the war. Unfortunately, Putin feels impunity.
Even after all of Russia's horrific attacks, he is reportedly preparing even more so-called "responses."
This means that with every new attack, with every diplomatic delay, Russia is pointing the finger at the entire world – at all those who are still hesitant to increase pressure on it.
However, it is Russia that should seek peace.
It is in Moscow that they must begin to feel that war has a cost, a high cost, and the highest cost must be paid by the aggressor.
If the world reacts poorly to Putin's threats, he interprets this as a willingness to turn a blind eye to his actions.
When he does not feel strength and pressure, but instead feels weakness, he always commits new crimes.
He sees such a stance as tacit permission: permission for new atrocities, new attacks, new killings. That is why we in Ukraine are so grateful to everyone in the world who is trying to stop this war and stop Russia's attacks.
For all those who tell the murderer that he will be held accountable.
To all those who say that Russian missiles and bombs must stop taking innocent lives. Russia must bring peace. And today, on the Day of Remembrance of Ukrainian Children Killed by Russian Aggression, we remind the powerful of this world of the facts.
If the powerful don't stop Putin, it means they share responsibility with him. And if they want to stop him but can't, then Putin will no longer see them as powerful.
