Elon Musk's money wasn't enough, Democrats take over the court in

President Trump's support and Elon Musk's money weren't enough to turn the Wisconsin Supreme Court back from Republicans, which now appears to be in the Democrats' hands.

According to CNN, Democratic Party-backed candidate Susan Crawford appears set to win the race, thus preserving the liberal majority in this key American state, less than three months after Trump's triumph in the presidential elections, which guaranteed him a second term in office.

Crawford, from the district court in Dane County, faced conservative candidate Brad Schimel, who had received the public support of the head of state himself in the latter part of the campaign.

Although the race is officially nonpartisan, Crawford's victory will be seen as extremely significant for Democrats not only in Wisconsin but across the country, given that voters boycotted Trump's preferred candidate, which is considered a minus in the political ordeal of his second era in leading the country.

A few days ago, Elon Musk distributed $1 million checks to voters in Wisconsin. The vote, which was supposed to return Republican control of the court, had become a hot topic of debate and was described as the most expensive judicial election in US history.
