One of the leaders of Hamas was eliminated by Israel yesterday. At a press conference on Thursday, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari showed Israeli forces video depicting the final moments of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
The video shows a drone entering a damaged building, where a person – whom the IDF says is Sinwar – can be seen sitting in a chair. The figure's body is positioned away from the drone, but appears to be looking towards the drone. The person's face is obscured and they appear to be sitting alone.
Hagari said that Sinwar was shot in the hand, CNN writes.
The edited drone video shows the figure holding what the IDF says is a piece of wood, which the person throws at the drone.
Israel says a drone later discovered Sinwari's body in the rubble of the building, which was hit by an Israeli tank on Wednesday.

Sinwari was one of the main architects of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which triggered the war in Gaza.
He was elected leader of the group after the killing of Ismael Haniyeh in July, in a suspected Israeli attack in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Before assuming leadership of Hamas, Sinwar had headed the group's armed wing.

During the October 7 attack, Hamas killed nearly 1,200 people – mostly civilians – in southern Israel and kidnapped nearly 250 others. As a result of the Israeli offensive, more than 42,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza.
While Israel has not claimed responsibility for some of the deaths of senior Hamas officials, it has acknowledged killing several officials, including Saleh al-Arouriand Mohammed Deif, Hamas's military commander.
