Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu backs down and postpones justice reform after mass protests plunged the country into its worst domestic crisis in years.

In last night's speech to the nation, Nenjatahu said that he cannot plunge the country into civil war, while he promised a solution at any cost. The Prime Minister announced that he would postpone the vote until after the Jewish Passover holiday from April 5-13, to give it time for a real chance and a real debate.

"We cannot have a civil war. I will find a solution at all costs, to give time for an extended approval in the next parliamentary session to reach an agreement".

This decision of Netanyahu was accepted by the opposition.

"I will come to the dialogue with an open heart and a sincere soul", emphasized Benny Gantz, head of the center party Mahane Mamlachti. Yair Lapid, head of the centrist Yesh Aitd party, also said he was ready to start a dialogue under Herzog's auspices.

Addressing the protesters, the head of the executive emphasized: "Be responsible. Do not give in to provocations. Our democratic method is the right one. Let's not deprive the people of the opportunity to choose. We will try to reach an agreement".

Netanyahu said he was aware of the growing tensions in Israeli society and the will to resolve them, while blaming an "extremist minority" for the protests.

Shortly after Netanyahu's speech, the head of the country's largest labor union, the Histadrut, said it would call off the general strike that threatened to shut down Israel's economy.
