Three children were killed as a result of a gun attack on Monday at a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee.

In a post on Twitter, the authorities announced that after the confrontation with the police, the suspect as the author of the attack also died.

Officials said all three children had gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead on arrival at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital.

The number of injured people is not yet known. But earlier, the Nashville Fire department wrote on Twitter that it was about 'multiple injuries'.

The attack happened at The Covenant School, a Presbyterian school with about 200 students, from preschool to sixth grade.
