Kuti-Abxhiku Negotiations - Still no candidate for president

The internal discussions about the president, announced last week by the leader of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, and the leader of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, have not yet taken place.

The LVV has announced the continuation of meetings on the issue of the president, but those familiar with political developments are skeptical that these discussions can quickly bring about an agreement.

Neither the Vetëvendosje Movement nor the Democratic League have indicated whether the creation of institutions will be concluded next week, writes Koha.

On Tuesday of last week, the leader of the LVV, Albin Kurti, met with the leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, in an attempt to find a solution to the president's issue.

After the meeting, both said they would take the discussion to the entities they lead. However, there were no meetings of party bodies last week, neither in the first nor the third party.

Kurti and Abdixhiku have stated that they will discuss specific names at the next meeting, after they said in Tuesday's meeting that they discussed the criteria that the new president must meet.

One of these criteria is that it be non-partisan. This comes after LDK gave up its request to take this position, but also the possibility of co-government with LVV.
