Vittorio Feltri, director of Il Giornale and advisor in the Lombardy Region with the "Fratelli d'Italia", has been suspended for four months by the Disciplinary Council of the Lombardy Order of Journalists for words spoken during the November 28, 2024 episode of the "La Zanzara" program, broadcast on Radio24.
The disciplinary measure comes after a phrase related to the protests in the Corvetto neighborhood of Milan over the death of Ramy Elgaml, the young man who lost his life during a chase by the carabinieri on the night of November 24.
" I would shoot Muslims in the mouth. I am not at all ashamed to consider Muslims an inferior race ," were Feltri's statements, which were also criticized by his party and also led to Agcom fining the program's presenters Giuseppe Cruciani and David Parenzo.
“ I know Corvetto,” continued Feltri, who left the Order of Journalists in protest in 2020 and returned just a year ago. “I don’t go to the suburbs because I don’t like them. They are chaotic, ugly and above all full of non-EU citizens who I can’t stand. Just look at what they do here in Milan. Should you regret the death of a boy? If someone decides to become a delinquent, whether they are 19 or 27, it’s the same ,” he said.
