Moments of fear on board a Ryanair flight in Greece when the plane hit an obstacle on the runway during landing, seriously injuring the arm.
The accident involved a Boeing 737 flying yesterday from London Stansted to Kalamata airport, in southern Greece. Fortunately, no one was injured on board, but there was a lot of fear among the passengers of flight FR6080.
As several witnesses told the Sun newspaper, due to the collision no one was allowed to get off the plane, but this caused fear and tension on board because many feared that a fire could break out that would have trapped everyone. Fortunately in the end everything ended in the best possible way, but the fear was great.
The plane had departed normally on Wednesday morning from London airport, but had faced strong turbulence during the journey and many therefore feared a difficult landing, but no one expected a collision.
"Everyone felt the crash," one passenger explained, and everyone expected an immediate evacuation at that point, but the cabin announced that everyone had to stay in their seats even though everyone had already seen that the wing was severely damaged. "It was announced that everyone would have to wait on the plane for the firefighters to arrive. Everyone was scared, also because with the arm damaged in that way, there was clearly a risk of fire," the passenger added.
