The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has issued an announcement after the border crossing in Merdare was blocked due to the placement of barricades by the Serbs on the Serbian side.
Since this is the point most often used by compatriots, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends them to use the other border points, while those who are currently in Serbia recommend that they use the border points in Mutivoda, Dheu i Bardhë or take the route through North Macedonia.
In this announcement, the Ministry of Justice says that "Serbian criminal groups have blocked the border point in Merdarë".
"All compatriots and citizens who are on the move are informed to use other border points for circulation until further official information from the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. If you have already entered Serbia, then please use the border points in Mutivoda, Dheu i Bardhë or take the route through North Macedonia (Presevo border crossing point) via Skopje. Considering the fact that there is a lot of fake news in circulation, which aims to spread fear, please follow @Kosovo_Police for the latest official updates in this regard," the announcement reads.
The National Center for Border Management has also declared about the situation in Merdare. The announcement states that barricades have been placed in the Republic of Serbia about two kilometers from the border.
