"The West will kill Putin and start a nuclear war"

"The West is seeking to kill Vladimir Putin and risk the creation of a nuclear war." This is what the Foreign Minister of the Kremlin said.

The accusation of the Kremlin's chief diplomat Sergei Lavrov is the next among a series of predictions for 2023 by people close to the Russian leader.

Lavrov told the state news agency TASS that "anonymous officials" in the Pentagon have plans to try to kill Putin.

"Washington is ahead of the curve as several anonymous Pentagon officials have voiced threats about a possible Kremlin coup that is actually an assassination attempt on the Russian president."

Likewise, the Russian chief diplomat warned that if there are people who spread these ideas, "then those people should also think about the consequences."

The statements made recently by Lavrov and Medvedev "paint" the West as if it is seeking conflict with Russia.
