The Israeli media "Terror Alarm" says that members of the Wagner mercenary group have left for Kosovo.

In a tweet, the Israeli media said that the information was provided by OpenSource Intelligence, namely by monitoring PMC Wagner's Telegram channel.

The mercenary group, declared a terrorist organization by the West, but also by Kosovo, is said to have set up a branch in Serbia and several times there have been accusations of introducing troops into the territory of Kosovo.

Since Friday, Serbs in the north of Kosovo have been protesting against the new presidents who emerged from the April 23 elections. During Monday's fight between Serbian protesters and KFOR troops, 30 of the latter were injured.

On March 22 of this year, the government of Kosovo updated the sanctions against the "Wagner" mercenary group, describing it as a threat that undermines the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

With its decision, the Kurti government aligned the sanctions with those of the United States, which in January declared Wagner a significant transnational criminal organization.

How was the Wagner Group created?

According to a BBC investigation, the Wagner Group is believed to have been founded by a former Russian army officer, 51-year-old Dmitri Utkin. He is a veteran of the Chechen wars, a former special forces officer and a lieutenant colonel of the Russian military intelligence service.

The Wagner group first came into action during Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014. Tracey German, a professor at King's College London, explains that this mercenary group has been fighting since the early days of the occupation in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
